Known for his strategic insights and entrepreneurial vision, Soud Ba’alawy has overseen the growth of Dubai Group and its local office network that spans from New York through London to Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.
Mr. Ba’alawy was previously CEO of Dubai Investment Group and played a key role in its foundation and growth. He has more than 10 years of experience in banking and investment with Citigroup, and was the Vice President of Gulf Treasury in Citibank Dubai. He has also served as Chief Investment Officer of Dubai Internet City and as Vice President of The Executive Office.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK.

Fadel A.B. Al Ali
Executive Chairman for Operations Dubai Holding
Fadel Al Ali has been with Dubai Holding since September 2004, where he joined as the Chief Financial Officer. Just a year later, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer for Dubai Holding, before being appointed to the role of Executive Chairman for Operations in 2007. In his new role, Mr. Al Ali is responsible for providing strategic operational leadership for the group as well as ensuring the implementation of global best practices throughout the Group’s key portfolio drivers.
Mr. Al Ali began a long and successful career at Citibank, where he worked as a financial analyst. He was then promoted to UAE Consumer Credit Head in 2001. Three years later, he was appointed the UAE Head of Distribution.
Mr. Al Ali graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and System Engineering. He also holds a Certificate of Finance from the American University of Sharjah.

Sayanta Basu
Chief Executive Officer Dubai Financial Group
Sayanta Basu is responsible for the overall strategic vision of the company, which focuses on the identification and acquisition of financial services companies, to build long term value through state-of-the-art governance. Mr. Basu has been a part of Dubai Group since September 2000, leading both the investment and the corporate strategy of the Group. Before his appointment as CEO of Dubai Financial Group, he was responsible for running Dubai Group’s entire private equity and hedge funds portfolio, investing in top managers for the last two years.
Mr. Basu has more than 17 years of experience in investment management, treasury and strategy, and has also worked for Reuters and Citibank in Dubai.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management.

Huda Buhumaid
Managing Director - Marketing and Communications, Dubai Group
Huda Buhumaid joined the Dubai Group in October 2006. She is responsible for the overall implementation of the marketing and communications strategies and for identifying, developing and effectively managing strategic partnerships for Dubai Group and its entities.
Prior to joining Dubai Group, Ms. Buhumaid was Vice President – Business Development and e-business Head of Citibank, UAE, where she successfully launched many services such as Citibank Online – Citibank’s internet banking service in the UAE, both for consumer and corporate businesses, CitiAlerts – the mobile notification service and the e-card – the Internet shopping card.
During her 10 years at Citibank, Ms. Buhumaid headed many functions; Usage & Retention, Student Segment, Deposits, and the Co-branded Cards Division where she launched several card products including the award-winning Emirates Airline co-branded credit card and EPPCO-Citibank Credit Card. She also developed several sales promotions, one of which won the Freddi Best Bonus Award in 2001 and 2003.
Ms. Buhumaid holds a Masters (Hons.) degree in Organisational Excellence from the University of Bradford, UK.

Hashim Al Dabal was formerly Executive Director Banking at Dubai Islamic Bank prior to that worked for 10 years at Citibank, UAE.
